The British Transport Police call it “vandalism” and “a blight on our society”, but some merry pranksters are bringing a chuckle to Tube riders throughout London. Observant commuters and visitors alike have been noting an uptick in cleverly designed and placed amendments to Transport For London signage.
These guerilla stickers incorporate the same fonts and design themes as London’s Underground network, but add amusing twists.
One enterprising sticker bomber has even started selling removable stickers at the website Mixthemessage . Definitely a step-up from tagging.

Lovely! The tube always needs a dose of humour to survive
Cute. Send some of those stress twigs over here; we need them on the Metro!
That’s hilarious! Any idea how pervasive the snarky sticker tagging is?
Not pervasive enough for most commuters.
Fantastic! I’ve yet to see them on my commute but enjoy the thought of these stickers being out there, along with some train drivers’ sense of humor and the famous white board at Angel tube station.

Public transport in London, especially the underground, is a place often a game of survival or tactics – a kind of Hunger Games if you will, without the arrows. The constant dodging and speed walking during rush hour (please stand on the RIGHT), the “surfing” in packed carriages where all the core muscles are tight as a guitar string, and the leaking white earphones allowing you into the musical universes of your fellow commuters may sound like a nightmare. And it can be – but what I love is that if you open your eyes and look closely enough, there will always be something funny to see.
Like these guerrilla stickers in this reblogged post. I haven’t seen these yet, but you bet I might actually get on the Central line just to see some of them.

I just had to share this hysterical posting from Travel Between the Pages about some mischievous behavior on the London Tube.
Thanks for this great post! I hope you don’t mind, but I just had to repost 🙂
