KLM Royal Dutch Airlines wants to turn your layover into a trip during your brief time in the Netherlands. Although the project’s name may sound a bit salacious, KLM simply wants to offer the air traveler with a stopover of more than six hours at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport an opportunity to meet with locals and build social networks.
Flyers who meet the criteria for the initiative will just need to download the “Layover with a Local app, which will match the profiles of travelers with a local resident. KLM will arrange the rest, including a free ticket for the airport to Amsterdam train, a personal meet-up, and the first round of drinks.
It may sound to good to be true, but you can sign up on the Layover website to find out more.
